An orange is thrown up from the top of a building. It travels up and back passing the top edge of the building and passes a point 20 m below the top of the building 4.0 s after leaving the thrower's hand. What is the initial speed of the orange, and how high does it rise above the top of the building?

Draw a diagram of the problem with the orange initially at the origin.

Be careful with the coordinate system. Set 0 where the orange starts the motion and measure x positive down.

Again the distance is negative or up.
