You are "chipping" a golf ball with a club that launches the ball at 65° to the horizontal. You want to hit a spot 140 ft down range and 16 ft above your level. What is the initial velocity needed to hit this spot?

Draw a diagram of the problem with the ball initially at the origin.

Set up a coordinate system with origin where you hit the ball.  Write the equations.

Look at the equations and you will probably decide that the most direct thing to do is to put in the value of x, find an expression for t in terms of v0 and substitute into the equation for y.

Now in the y equation
